What Is Supported Employment?

Supported Employment at OneWell

Supported Employment is a service designed to help individuals find and keep jobs in typical community workplaces where they earn competitive wages and work alongside people without disabilities.

Services are individualized and may include job exploration, job development, on-the-job training, and ongoing support to ensure job stability and growth. Supports are tailored to help individuals build skills, increase independence, and succeed in real-world work environments.

At OneWell, Supported Employment is never one-size-fits-all. Each employment plan focuses on meaningful work that aligns with the individual’s goals, abilities, and preferences.

OneWell Supported Employment Process

The OneWell Supported Employment Process

Our Supported Employment program follows a clear pathway from the first referral through long-term job success.

1. Referral or Request

Services begin with a referral from a coordinator, school, family, or individual. We gather initial information to understand work goals.

2. Intake & Documentation

We work with the team to complete paperwork, including ISPs and assessments, and review service expectations.

3. Meet and Greet

A meeting is scheduled to discuss interests, history, and goals. This helps us match the individual with the right Employment Specialist.
