We believe that a healthy and happy community starts with access to quality healthcare and wellness resources. That’s why we’re bringing our team to Open Streets Lancaster to provide information on our services and to answer any questions you may have about us or the IDD community that we serve!

But that’s not all! We’ll also be leading fun activities such as coloring, painting by numbers, snacks, and goody bags!

For one day, the streets connecting Mayor Janice C. Stork Corridor Park to Culliton Park (Walnut St. – Conestoga St.) will be temporarily closed to motorized vehicles and opened up to the Lancaster community. This event is part of a broader effort to promote physical activity, encourage walking and biking as a mode of transportation, and help people forge meaningful social connections.

Open Streets Lancaster is not your typical block party or street fair. It’s a free family-friendly event that transforms Water Street into a paved playground. Pedestrians of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds can participate in activities that promote physical and mental health, enjoy live local music, explore art exhibits, indulge in food truck delicacies, and learn about non-profits and small businesses.

Hosted by Lancaster Rec in partnership with the City of Lancaster and the Lancaster Bikes program, this event is an opportunity to reimagine transportation and community connections throughout the City of Lancaster. Attendees are encouraged to walk, bike, blade, and skate to the event and to meet their neighbors in meaningful ways. Join us for a fun-filled day that celebrates Lancaster’s vibrant community!
