OneWell Health Care is proud to announce that we are officially an ACRE Curriculum-Approved Training Provider! This milestone positions us to provide approved ACRE training to Employment Specialists and other professionals who help individuals with disabilities pursue meaningful, competitive, and integrated employment.
For OneWell, this achievement creates an opportunity to extend our impact beyond the individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and families we currently serve. By supporting professional development within our organization and across the field, we can help equip more professionals with the knowledge, skills, and tools to strengthen their Supported Employment services.
What Is ACRE Training, and Why Does This Approval Matter?
ACRE stands for the Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators, an organization dedicated to improving employment services and outcomes for people with disabilities through education. Its approach to training focuses on the knowledge and practical skills professionals need to support individuals in pursuing employment.
ACRE reviews training curricula against established competencies to determine whether they adequately address these learning needs. Its Employment Services framework covers areas such as individualized assessment and career planning, job development, and workplace supports—connecting professional learning with the responsibilities of helping people pursue and maintain employment.
Becoming an ACRE Curriculum-Approved Training Provider means OneWell is now positioned to deliver approved training to professionals in the field. This approval recognizes the training curriculum and establishes a foundation for expanding our contribution to professional development in employment services.
Strengthening Supported Employment Through Professional Development
Employment support begins with understanding the individual: their strengths, interests, preferences, and goals. Professionals working alongside job seekers need knowledge and practical tools to help translate those priorities into employment opportunities.
Through ACRE-approved training, OneWell has an opportunity to invest further in the development of our own employees. Strengthening professional knowledge and skills can inform the support our teams provide as individuals with disabilities work toward their employment goals.
This opportunity also extends beyond OneWell. We are now positioned to provide approved training to other Employment Specialists, professionals, and organizations seeking to strengthen their Supported Employment services. Sharing learning across organizations allows us to contribute to a broader professional community working toward employment inclusion.
The purpose of this training remains connected to the people receiving support. By equipping professionals with knowledge, skills, and tools, we aim to support their work helping individuals with disabilities pursue meaningful, competitive, and integrated employment.
Celebrating the Team and Looking Ahead
This milestone reflects the contributions of colleagues who helped make OneWell’s approval possible. We extend a special congratulations and thank-you to Brandon Ehrenfeld, Connor Smith, Jacquelyn Lambert, Cynthia Seemiller, and Morgan Davis, along with everyone who contributed to this accomplishment.
Their work has opened a new opportunity for OneWell to support professional growth and strengthen our contribution to employment services.
As we build on this achievement, we look forward to supporting learning within our own teams and connecting with other professionals and organizations in the field. Together, we can continue working toward greater possibilities for employment inclusion, with individual interests and aspirations at the center.
